Umm, no. At least, not here. I do not hate mexicans. I, however, do not like the people who enter the United States illegally for the purposes of work. I think they should have many, many more permits to allow people LEGALLY into the US, but anyone here illegally, they should be sent home.TDRE666 wrote:
Americans are anti-Mexican right now because the economy is doing poorly. You saw a few people complaining during the huge growth of the 90's but for the most part people had jobs and were secure in those jobs. We are so fickle that we need a scapegoat for a downturn that is generally part of a cyclical economy and a little overdue.
Why? Living in Texas, we have to deal with a lot of the ramifications around here. With the "undocumented workers" here in such numbers, there is a group of people here who fear the police. That means there are those who will prey on them, knowing they cannot go to the cops without being deported. (If you leave the grain bin open, you WILL get rats). This raises crime. Also, if you are willing to break the laws of an area to just live there, you are less likely to follow other laws regarding living there.
Also, when we DO finally deport the criminals who are also illegal aliens, they just hop the fence and come right back. There is more money for the picking up here than in areas where they come from; kinda why they come up here in the first place.
Add to that situation that they are forming communities here in the US that, unlike privious immigrations, show no signs or desires to blend in with the society and culture that is curently in place. Nearly every other incoming community has formed their own little piece of home here in the US, from Chinatown to Little Italy and all those other areas. However, those peoples moved out of those areas, learned english and fit into our society. Society changed a little each time, but that is to be expected. Not so with the current situation. They show little desire to fit in, or even learn English, which is the primary language.
I do not like illegal aliens for the situations they create here in some of our communities. As people, they are hard working and industrious. I do not want the people to go home; I just want to find a way for it to be legal and regulated without rewarding people who broke the law in getting here with any kind of "amnisty."
My dislike for the Mexican government comes from them publishing pamplets on how to cross the border, and publically endorsing their people emmigrating to the United States. The money sent home to Mexico from illegals working in the US is the #2 source of revinue for the Mexican government, with tourism being #1. The military is so corrupt that they use military assets to facilitate and protect the movement of drugs into the United States.
But hate? That is a bit strong.

Wow... this thread is made of pure 100% bigotry. Sad.

I don't hate mexicans. Maybe because I'm a hispanic immigrant myself, even though I don't speak much Spanish at home and I'm about as assimilated as can be.
I don't like illegal immigration, but at the same time I doubt that Mexicans are illegally entering the US for the sake of it. I'm certain that a lot of them would be more than willing to work hard and follow the "American dream." What we need isn't a stupid fence across the border, it's immigration reform and maybe a sensible "amnesty" system of sorts for current illegals.
Any illegal who wants to become a legal resident or citizen applies to USCIS for a special visa. They must then maintain this visa for a certain amount of time before being eligible to become a resident. During this time, they must try to find and maintain work, keep out of crime, and show that they're contributing members of society. Those who fall into crime, or never try to actually work hard, are rejected of their application. Those who show that they WANT to be true citizens, and not just mooch off the system, should be granted the opportunity to become residents, perhaps at reduced prices (I'm applying for my green card now because I have lived in the US under a special immigrant visa all my life, and it's very expensive).
I know what I'm saying is far more simple than possible, but hopefully you understand the gist of it.
edit: I agree with imortal... not even residency, just some sort of work visa that Mexicans can get so they can legally come to this country without having to spend all the money they'd make in their life working in Mexico.

Because they don't have respect for us, or themselves. I cite lack of desire to assimilate.
My wife is half Mexican btw, which makes my kids 25% Mexican.

I don't hate Mexicans, but illegal immigrants I do hate. My hatred sees no race/country.
The "why bother" attitude.
Basically, I got here under my own power, I can buy a house using a fake ID, earning money on a fake SS number. I can send my kids to school that I don't pay for. I receive government help that I don't deserve. I make all the white folks nervous. Why should I bother fitting in?
Other than that group, I have nothing but the up most respect for the Mexican culture. One of my best friends was born outside of the country and was brought here a few weeks after. They are horribly nice people.
But the one item that pisses me off the most is schooling. A child that came to this country, can continue into high school without learning most of the language, receive a diploma, get a Government grant, and go to college.. With the English aptitude of a 4th grader.

And, I think the number was 1 in 12 people living in Arizona is an illegal immigrant.
I don't hate Mexicans, only dislike them if they are criminals. I don't like criminals. Criminals are bad.
The reason I personally don't like Mexicans is because 85% of them in my school don't give a shit about school.
We don't hate Mexicans. We don't even hate illegal immigrants (regardless of nation of origin). We just want people to immigrate here legally. It's not really that complex of an issue.

Yep....I hate mexicans who expose the free health care and free education at the expense of American tax payers.IRONCHEF wrote:

So with that, I'll submit my answer.
I don't hate Mexicans. I do hate Mexicans who purposefully exploit the gracious and overtaxed American tax payer. But for that matter, I also hate any foreign national who likewise robs me and my fellow tax paying citizens and degrades what makes our nation strong - the legal immigrants who come to this country.
Well I think I speak for some Canadians to and we hate Mexicans to. they are pirtty much do the same as in us but we have way way less. you would have thought its to coled up here for them but well its not
