i use mozilla firefox, but it's weird: myspace and yahoo simply never worked in mozilla on my home PC.  I never really cared, though, I would simply use ie7 to visit those sites.

However, after installing this week's updates, ie7 encounters a serious error and must close as soon as i click the icon.  It really doesn't even have a chance to start up.

I tried to fix the problem by reinstalling ie7.  That did work, but caused firefox to do very weird things to any site with a forum.  I am an active member on 3 forums.  It would lose all graphics, color, and layout, so they would appear to be nothing more than rich text.

I rolled back my computer to try the whole update again, but I can't open ie7 again.

What would really solve the problem would be if someone could tell me how to fix mozilla so that myspace can do more than simply log in and see my welcome screen (i.e. i want to be able to read my messages, accept friend requests, etc.) and so that yahoo will let me log in and not rapidly auto-refresh.

I'm at a loss...   If this doesn't work, I'm going to reformat, because I tried to install C&C Generals Zero Hour, and it says I need DX8 or higher, which obviously i have 9, so that won't let me play, and also I have DL'ed the UT3 demo from 3 seperate servers using both web browsers and have yet to have a successful extraction and install of the files, and my computer is a strong computer.  I run BF2 on max, so I should be able to at least INSTALL ut3...

thank you in advance for your help guys.

Cheers!

updated all right for me. No idea, so i'ma bumping this
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

No probs for me. It does sound like your computer has been fucked for quite some time. Consider a reformat.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
