So heres a question-

- with all the new graphics and physics engines out there y is it that building cant blow up?

- this is obviosly not going to happen in BF2 but maybe for BF3 this would be a good idea, say if you shoot a building with a tank a chunk will fall off. But this chunk will be randomly registered into the computer every time meaning no 2 chunks will be alike. Same with hand weapons. Wouldnt it be nice to place c4 on a building and blow a whole right threw it? and again it would be randomized.  Or that u can run down the side of the building shooting holes into it and into the guys on the other side. Now every bullet wouldnt get threw so maybe they can randomize that as well lyk first 3 will get threw then the next 2 wont and so on and so forth. Aside from buildings wouldnt it be nice 2 shoot a blackhawk in air and see oil spill out or have an actual hole there?

-Aside from all this people might say these ideas will be bad because if the game is long enouph then the whole map will be whiped out. Well there is a way to solve this. How about not deleting it acter it is blown up? When a chunk off a building falls off LEAVE IT THERE! So there will always b enouph rubble by the end of the round to play about with. This will creat a different environment every round so the maps wont get boring.

-Thx for leaving feuture postes

I'm sure destructible environments are going to be a part of bf3 in some form. The trouble is that true randomly descrutible environments like those you speak of are incredibly intensive on servers and clients alike. This type of destruction is not going to be seen in games for at least a few more generations. There are instead tricks to make environments intentionally destructible in specific locations, sort of like Red Faction II.

well as far as i see it hasent updated in the past 7 years at least...

i remember back in the day of Delta Force 2 you could blow up just as many things as in now days.

I understand the server part and online, but what would be the problem with it being single player? our comps could handle that

No, your computer would not be able to handle creating geometry randomly on the fly based on where the surface was shot from. Not even with a PPU would it be able to handle that in realtime. It will come eventually, but not anytime soon, especially for multiplayer.

They DID make BF2 with destructable scenery in the alpha/beta versions. BUT they said it totally ruined the gameplay as imagine Karkand just a flat desolate place. No fun at all. The levels are  not destructable as they channel you into small flashpoints for a reason!

ShowMeTheMonkey is right because eventually the environments would be dead flat. Unless there was a limit to how far a building could go boom

Go play HL2, because they havent got massive maps, they have excellent graphics, even for low end computers, as long as there are big maps with alot of online gameplay, they have to make it so that alot of people can play, it's all about money man. They dont care if its not just right or what, you buy it, they profit. Why do you think they let something like all stats be down for a whole weekend, they couldnt care less, its only complaints from people who have paid(wont be paying again) the stats are not a problem to people who havent bought the game(the people with the cash) so they dont care.

If you want a realistic fight, go join the military, the best graphics you will see in your life time:) and you get to actually die if you get shot, how cool is that, too bad iraq will fade out by the time i join military, i wanna go there:)

they could make good hiding places in buildings able to blow up. on select buildings can blow up.

say theres an awesome sniping spot that most people know of. they will go in, but you could blow up the section of the building the sniper is.

I would like to be able to blow up buildings. Say there's a sniper on top of a tall building and im in a tank. i shoot the main cannon, even if i dont kill him he falls to his death AND no more snipers can use that spot so it can be just all out blazing support. Kick Ass!!!
