I plan on having 2x1GB of Wintec AMPX PC6400 memory running in dual channel and then another 2x1GB of a different brand of PC6400 memory running in dual channel. Will the two different brands, running in separate dual channel configurations, create any performance or compatibility issues?
Generally, from what I know, having exactly the same types of memory is always preferred.
It can, but usually doesn't create problems. When the problems occur it is usually because of improper SPD readings. When mixing modules like that the SPD should have the BIOS set everything to accommodate the slowest modules. If that doesn't happen you can have a problem.
