Hi all,
I have an AMD 64 4200+ 939 dual core CPU with default clock of 2.2Ghz. Default speeds I get 5244 in 3Dmark06 (SM2-2381, SM3-2074, CPU-1576)
If I overclock it to 2.67Ghz using slightly higher than default HTT and RAM speeds I get 5412 in 3DMark06 (SM2-2376, SM3-2093, CPU-1839). I expected a slightly higher performance increase in 3Dmark and not a decrease in SM2 score and barely anything changing in SM3.
So my question is, Have I done something wrong or is my CPU not a bottleneck on a 8600GTS?
CPU performance had increased. When from 4250 to 5154 in the Everest CPU Queen test which brings it just behind a C2D E6700. Super PI times were lower too. Is it my not so amazing graphics card thats the problem?
I've got another 8600GTS (was/is planning on going SLI) and similar results except this card is 100 3Dmarks marks better than the other, blue PCB > green PCB I guess.
What you reckon?
