I'm a computer addict, and I support more computer dependency, but the real issue is that computer security must continue to push the envelope.  Just stay on the cutting edge of antivirus and encryption software, and you're good to go.

I have to say it depends on the situation - you need to retain intelligence, while advancing technologically (as has been said before).
I don't think a full failure of computers is possible.

Computers are a mixed bag of blessings and curses, but it depends on the field.

The ironic thing is that they were brought into the office to save time, but all it ends up doing is dumping more work on your lap, so your day takes just as long. And the mobilization of technology means that people who are unable to resist working every hour of the day aren't going to have any time for their families...or to pay attention to traffic.

I think for critical systems/areas, we need manual backups (eg. emergency services, aircraft/other transport, the military)
