Is it done by using a widget? I saw some guy who was running vista and he has a mac layout.

it can be done with those programs. deviantart.com has a few osx ones, as well as some other pretty nifty ones, some of which are just plain old windows themes that you can add without any other 3rd party software.

question, will putting another theme on use up more ram?
Depends on the theme, if it's very nice and high quality it'll use a bit more ram, but if it's only got the 8 basic colours it'll drop the ram usage.
