BF2S Forums Japanese scientists create mice with no fear of cats

Its an EXPERIMENT... RESEARCH u fools! Its to see if they can turn off the "fear gene". If they can do it in mice now, hell why not soldiers. Fuck yea fearless army, no fucking around with brainwashing either, just inject and tell them to go fight. Also if you were fearless in battle you could think straighter and give orders/fight better. Give me some of that shit any day.

It was an experiment, it's not like they were aiming for a cure for cancer. Nowhere did he say that this was good for the mouse either.

Fear is a healthy thing, it's stupid to remove it from any being :p poor mice, only japanese would try it lol

stupid research goal from the scientist over there.  removing the fear gene from animals so they can not fear their natural enemies.  stupid.  Messing around animal's gene like that.  It'll mess up things like the food chain.

Its not about making mice who aren't afraid of there natural predators...Once they perfect this technology they aren't gonna go around shooting it into wild animals to cure anxiety in the squirls in central park...

Firstly its about developing techniques to manipulate genes for a desired result, and secondly it would be huge in military applications.

a soldier without fear is pretty fucking useless in alot of situations, mainly because fear totally triggers your adrenaline rush and ways to get out of tight situations, it's pretty helpfull. You'd just get a reckless machine instead of a soldier, it'd just make training suicide bombers easier.

they could've tried their research on other genes, the manipulation of fear isn't exactly going to help out alot because every gene aspect differs way too much from one another to even start comparing, I have no idea what they would use fear analysis for.

Technically, it could have been a big fake. The cat would of attacked the mouse but the video said it was docile, but it may have been drugged? Although I think that that is reading too much into it heh! Awesome. Good job, Japanzese.
