Well, do you mean most grossing or percentage compared to what it cost to make the film?

Cost 200 mil to make, got back 1.8 bil.  One star wars film cost 13 mil to make, brought in over 717 mil.  Higher percentage for Star Wars.

thats what I would have guessed if the 60s post limited hadn't stopped me
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

I was of the impression that by percentage "Deepthroat" pulled in the most profit as it cost around $22,500 to make and brought in over $100 million (some estimates put sales up as high as $600 million but this seems a bit too much me thinks). Not bad for a porn flick anyhow.

Otherwise Titanic wins for gross sales.

I knew it'd be Titanic.

But Shoot 'Em Up was 10x better then that because Clive Owen kills a guy with a carrot, and kills multiple guys while helping a woman give birth.

I knew someone here would figure it out. Deepthroat has the highest return on investment. All courtesy of the US government and all the free publicity it provided by its prosecution of the leading man and the distributors.

Yeah, but Any Which Way You Can was better because it had Clint Eastwood and a monkey in it, and they was like bestest friends and stuff and they did things together.

I don't see why Titanic was so appealing. It was a shitty film, but I suppose the ending when...

Spoiler (highlight to read):
The ship sunk

and ripped in half and did all sorts of crazy shit, was pretty good.

Blair witch, preceded by Mad Max

"The film was very successful at the box office, holding a record in Guinness Book of Records as the highest profit-to-cost ratio of a motion picture, only conceding the record in 2000 to The Blair Witch Project. Mad Max was independently financed and had a reported budget of $300,000 AUD — of which $15,000 was paid to Mel Gibson for his performance — and went on to earn $100 million worldwide. The film was awarded four Australian Film Institute Awards in 1979."
