I've always liked Google.. thought they were a good company with a clean easy to use search website... But recently I've come to think google is getting too big.. With all the new stuff they're introducing it sometimes feels like theyre trying to take over the entire market..
Also it's not totally clean anymore.. Google accepted money from the Chinese government too once to remove Tibetan search results which the government of China did not approve of...
What do you think of Google? Discuss.

The above quote can also be applied to EA and we all know how they're turning out these days, to a degree Google pretty much controls the internet, you make a new website, you want tit to succeed, one of the first things you think about is how to get it on Google.

It's sad though. They take the ideas from other sites, implement them with the name "Google" in it and make 100 times more profit than the site which had the idea and the site which has done it better than Google. Most of googles awesome shit online is better elsewhere; people just don't bother looking further from Google. Which is sad because it disallows small companies and entepreneurs from making a nice lump of cash. And for those companies who do make it big on the internet, Google quickly notices and either buys the company or wipes it from the notice board by creating something better.

Yeah, it's sad. I hate to say it, but its the internet.

Google was good in the 90's and early 2000's. They've grown too large by now. They're becoming the Microsoft of the Internet.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Did you guys hear about google's online book project?  I forget where I read it but apparently they are scanning a lot of books in from the (not sure) library of congress and will make a lot of books available online.  Not sure how they will accomplish this though, as they are giving access to material they do not own.  Irony of this, if I wanted to look up and cite the story, I would use google.
