Probably the wrong kind of forum, but I hate the hassle of signing up to new forums.

Its not a huge problem, but it is still rather annoying.

The heating in my car doesn't work.

I turn the dial to hot, all I get is cold air, and turning it to cold gives me cold as well (a bit obvious really).

Even after a long time, the air still blows out cold.

The dial to adjust fan speed is fine.

Its the time of year when I would really appreciate it to work.

The problem isn't that your heater doesn't work, rather the fact that you drive a Ford Fiesta.

Ford Fiesta, the Anti-Pussy.

After the XR2 the Fiesta was rubbish and they killed it.

possibly your car had an overheating problem in the past and someone removed the thermostat causing the cooling fan to blow continuously ?
if so ur car will take forever to warm up - just a thought hope it helps

Sounds like the thermostat doesn't open and close properly .... try replacing it with a new one ... also check the coolant liquid, that you have enough and the proper quality.

And indeed, after the XR2 the Fiesta died a horrible, slow, ugly death.

Also check your radiator, see if you have enough liquid in there. Is it below zero? Hope the thing hasn't frozen over -> Engines don't like that

Which model is it ?

I had a Mk4 van for work and the hot to cold dial is electronic.

Under the bonnet, infront of the windscreen, you'll see two pipes behind the rubber seal.

One pipe goes in and one comes out.
Where they go in has a wire that comes from the dial.

You need to take the pipes off, keep them up and you won't lose too much coolant.

Undo the four screws, and inside you'll see a coil with a rod and seals on it.

It's the rod that sticks.

Spray some oil on it, duckoil, WD40 or something similar, just to free it off.

If it's not that, make sure the wire has a voltage on it.
Or, put a screwdriver in the coil and make sure it pulls to the side (magnetizes).

It's easy and you won't mess it up, so don't be scared.

An XR2 looks way better kitted up. Keep the rims stock too (see XR2 image I posted for stock rims, I love 'em).

Heater's broken. Get it fixed, or get a new car.

But seriously, Fiestas are uncool. My MOTHER drives one.

I drive an '86 around my back field.
No bonnet
No heating
No wipers
No brakes
No cooling for the engine
But its still a grand wee car

Fiesta ST = Good.

Better than Clio 197?, maybe, because clios = french cheese monkey car.

However, Focus ST > both.

I'd go with a VW Golf R32 personally but the Focus ST is a damn good car.
