Should spammers be banned from D&ST?

We've all seen it, CamPoe has made a thread regarding the annoying people coming into D&ST and either not reading the topics, or writing one liners such as "no u", "lol" or "qft". I don't think I'm the only one sick of seeing personal attacks instead of actual rebuttals in to a topic.

So what should we do? How can we keep D&ST clean? I think that spammers should be banned from D&ST, and then have a chance to redeem themselves by talking normally, or cutting down on their spamming throughout the forums...

Too extreme? Any other suggestions?

Report? How many posts from the same guy do I have to report until something is done about him? I mean seriously, we all know certain members who only let out a cesspool of spam, but they're all still about, and spamming.

Asking this question is in response to this thread, right? Well, this is an isolated incident really. I don't think anyone uses "no u" as a reply in a true debate thread. They might use it for a bit of comic relief, but usually it's followed up by an actual thought out response. Also, banning would just be too harsh.

Nah, I'm more annoyed by people 4chan-ing around the forums, and bringing constant one-liners, or post spams, no matter what section. I'm sick of having to actually look for the thread within it... of having to go through tons of spam until I get to the core of the thing, or having to go through spam to follow it...
