Not sure if this is the right section, but its serious talk for me anyways.

I have been asking some very serious questions of myself, and came to the conclusion that, in order to fund my life style, I need a very different (better paying carrear).  I am currently a test driver for the ford motor company, it's a fantastic job, I love car's, but the fact is, it doesnt suit how I like to live, and the wages arent enough.

Sooooooo, I sent an application into NATS, to become a trainee air traffic controller, I made all of there requirements, yet still got knocked back.  I find myself asking why.........

Now, I can apply again, but ofcourse, I am almost certainly in for the same answer.  So I ask, how on earth do you get experience in that field, without actually being in it?  I doubt hours and hours on FSX is quite what they had in mind lol, but I honestly do not know :\

Does anyone have any ideas?  It's something I am really interested in, and, it's for all intends and purposes, a good carrear.

Cheers for any help

Most ATC guys I know were controllers in the military.  I have also seen people who have pilots licenses and a dispatch license and did that for a while.  I recommend one of those two paths.  Or you can go to school for it.  Here in the US, Embry Riddle or the University of North Dakota would get you a job also.

Yeah, everyone I talk to says the military is one of the best ways to get into the aviation industry. I'm definitely thinking of joining the RAF after my degree. Let's see how it all pans out

Join the U.S.A.F and push for a Controller position BEFORE you sign the contract.

Easiest way possible.
