What about when one can't do anything about it? Raising awareness of the issues at least contributes towards getting things done. If nobody raised awareness of the Darfur issue nothing would be being done about that, if nobody raised awareness of civil rights violations in Northern Ireland nothing would have been done about that.

The inability to actually concretely do anything other than perhaps donate money to charities does not negate someone's right to be outraged by something or to discuss the issues involved.

But what I don't understand is they're not your borders, so why leave your isolationist ideas to worry about the borders of another coutnry?

It's the principle of the thing. It stems from what happened to my own country at the hands of the Brits.
