I was looking at using the motherboard for a new build http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a … 6813128059

I was also planning on reusing my dvd burner (IDE) and PATA hard drive.

This motherboard only has one pata connector. Does this mean that I won't be able to use one of the drives?

Also, will DDR2 800 ram work in it?

You can connect max 2 devices to 1 pata channel. (If you have a ide-cable that has 1 connector in the middle and 1 in each end. Go buy one if you don't.)

Just make sure that if you run an ATAPI drive on the same cable as a hard drive that you make the hard drive the master and the ATAPI drive the slave.
