Thats right, a tank's shell can go atleast 590 meters!  I was sitting on the island lobbing shells at the carrier, I got 2 kill damage assists and killed scottishdwarf   If only we had a reliable aiming system

thats a stupid post...
we used to do that on bf42 all the time. standard procedure was to shell (and sink) ships..

the tank shells can go MUCH further than shore to ship in this game. if draw distance wasnt a problem, u could conceivable shell the essex from the airfield on wake..

I miss the shore defense guns.. sinking Daihatsu's with those badboys was soooo fun.

I once fired the grenade launcher on the f2000 up into to air in the gneral direction of the enemy flag (from about 300m away) and I got 4 kills, must of hit a damaged jeep or something

I guess you got me there. Though I once fired a tank shell from the Dalian nuclear power plant, which flew into a supersonic J-10 flying over Wake Island. The jet then fell into 2 fully loaded blackhawks, which then fell onto a fully loaded boat. I didn't mention that because it turns out they were all on my team... (You have been kicked for excessive teamkilling)

It's interesting that in real life, an M16 can shoot further than that, accuratly.

Attacking uncappables is allowed
It's just private servers that are allowed to enforce a "no uncappable attacking" rule.

Distance to Flag!!! Although hard to see cos the HUD it says 592m

I've destroyed the AA turret on the ESSEX on Dalian Plant from the shore with a tank shell.
