I dont think its noobish. It could be a waste of a vehicle when a teammate wants a drop. Its not EASY to drop right on someone unless they are a noob sniper hiding on a roof zoomed in. About the server rules. I dont mind if a server says sniper only (although i think its stupid) etc... But there are some servers that have rules that dont make sense. Like not allowed in uncap unless that team has at least one flag BS. No bunny hopping. I understand its harder to hit a hopping guy than a walking guy. But thats like regulating what buttons you can press. I didnt make the game but i am going to try to kick ass, and if im getting shot at im going to dive, duck, dodge, dip and ... Dive. Whatever it takes to stay alive. If these servers dont like jumping or diving they should ask ea to remove the oprtion of having a jump button.
Base Raping - If you go get a flag they would not have any success base raping. So dont be a sniper sitting on the hill at karkand. Go get a damn flag.
Spawn Raping - Sucks to spawn into. But really, i was moving from the suberbs to hotel, i threw two grenades around the back and moved around the front to the flag and i get warned for base rape. Its not base rape, its strategy. Why should i run directly into fire when i can kill a couple spawning in so that i have 15 seconds to set up on the flag.
Most of these servers where i find no bunnyhopping or dolphin diving, i see the local clan doing it. They all have high scores and then they give warnings to me when i kill them because i did it better than them. That's BS. The rules cant be monitered by an unbiased source. Maybe there should be a request to PB to ban the use of space bar or prone. Then it would at least be even.
People paid to buy a game they can play online, and then there are hardly any servers that dont have some sort of retarded rules to it. So yah, the clan may have paid for the server, but they paid for a BF2 server, they should have to play by the BF2 rules. If they dont like the game the way it is they dont have to rent a server. And if they insist on these gay rules they should not be ranked. IMO.
Nice comparison. Cartillery does not land you an assault charge, punchin someone in the face does. Why dont the stupid pansy sinpers just unzoom that scope occasionally and take a look around?? Or just dont stay in the same place for a whole round. These rules only help people to continue sucking. Ranked servers should have the same rules as matches. Point and case is the stat padding in Knife Pistol servers. Im not saying you shouldn't be able to do that. But it should not be ranked when neither team has any intention of capping a flag. And in fact kicks people who dont stay between the flags.

Somehow I think BF3 isn't going to be the hit BF2 or 2142 will be since the community is the one killing it. Inconsistent server rules, and even more inconsistent enforcement, usually only to help the server owners is making the game less fun to play. I go back to Day of Defeat 1.3 all the time. I've been playing since early 2002, and only had problems with three servers over the three years. And most server rules are related to FF and no hack/cheat/glitch.

If you don't like the server rules, don't play there, look around and find a good server with good rules, that's what i did. Now, i have a few servers i go to with good rules ONLY: No tking, No hacking, (some rules about commanding, but, i never command so, i don't remember them). That's it, no stupid rules! So instead of coming here and righting all this stuff and making a big deal out of it, spend the time to find some servers you like to play on, add them to favs and your set.

He said it was and argued with me about it. So I sat there for 5 Min's reading all the scrolling rules and it was not posted...
He still had a attitude and couldn't admit he was wrong.
Then he says go to the website to read the rules... yeah right.. I'm suppose to go to websites before I join a server just to read some worthless rule? It a fucking car! it just one death,.. Why is everyone so worried about dieing 1 time?
