since a supply drop will give ammo to all classes, it would be logical to think that you could trade in your kit for another, right? Just think- you're a medic, your buddies have been killed by artillery (and thus you cannot revive them), and a T-90 is rolling down the street. Rather than stand helplessly and watch, why no be able to run to a supply drop and change to an AT kit and blow that sucker off the map? Whaddaya think?

THIS is exactly what i've been thinking, excellent idea though i can see where it may get bad. a tank may be taking over a base and a commander sens a drop and everyone changes to AT and takes the tank out easily so that's the only thing i see bad

I think the supplies are the worst thing on bf2 so far... they don't heal fast enough, resupply fast enough, they squish you often (could just be me though), and they get destroyed easily. Their best purpose so far is reparing assets. This idea would make supply crates much more useful and wouldn't unbalance the game at all.
As Elangbam said, it would suck cause people would then switch to whatever kit was needed in the moment and destroy a tank completelly... but that would be easily solved by only allowing 1 kit change per person. Thus if everyone goes AT, then you will soon get raped.

-but w/e u had some mortor place that the commander can command 2 hit 1 specific target say 4 times before waiting a minute to relode (this way a commander can cheaply kill one person at a time like a camper)

Thanks Mex. 1 kit change/person would place a cap on those "last-minute-there's-a-tank-at-my-base" rush to be AT.

I've been killed at least 3 or 4 times by the Commander dropping the supply box on my head.....and I think one change of a kit via the supply box would be interesting.
i've been wanting this for a while too, i really hope they put it in sometime.
OK new Kit called Supply Sergeant- He gets in a truck and drives around to give people active kit changes and the truck is like a driving supply crate too. All he gets is a knife, pistol, a wrench, a cup of coffee and a pad of hand receipts. You can't move the truck while people are in the back changing kits. Only the driver and one on the machinegun can remain in while moving while supply sergeant is in the truck.
This is the vehicle that can defend the non-cap base with the supply sgt or commander could riding around for the whole game.
