omg i had the problem with 1942, have you got any new hardware lately, i tested everythink with mine, and i had 2 different ram sticks, even tho it said they where the same.
Well I have a GeForce 6800 GT, 1 GB Ram and an AMD Athlon 3500+, I don´t thing it´s a hardware problem...I installed the new Nvidia-drivers but the problem continues...^^

you could try running a CAB cleaner when u instal latest gfx drivers [im presuming you are NOT a techno noob, and that you are fully aware that u need to UNinstal old drivers before u instal latest..]
CAB cleaner will rip out all traces of previous gfx drivers from the registry and so forth.. you could be getting a bad smell from previous. i hear some folks with radeon cards can get iffy graphics issues from time to time.
Also, as BF2 configures itself each time u change game settings, it also wil have stored basic hardware info on your pc when u installed the game. If you have swapped any hardware around, eg more ram, new gfx card or sound card say, then the game may be bolloxed.
If none of the above applies, when all else fails, uninstal bf2, clean your registry, and reinstal it.
