my wife and I intend to shut ourselves in our apartment for Christmas and just watch movies.  I need a list of movies to rent.

The only thing we don't like is cheesy sexual humor, or otherwise "retarded" humor.  aka--no borat, superbad, american pie type movies.

that and we're both wimps, so nothing scary.

Just whatever movies you think are really worth seeing.

Nothing scary as in gore/blood?

How about psychologically scary?

Mr. Brooks, very good movie. I highly recommend it.

Do you want action movies?
I personally like war and action movies, so I'd recommend Shoot Em Up, Redacted, War, Survivor's Dawn, Shaft...

A really good movie that I recommend regardless of taste is Runaway Jury (it's with the actor from Grosse Point Blanke - a classic, so if you haven't seen that, do it now! )

Hitch I own
The Departed, I didn't like as much as other people did.
The Bourne Series kicks ASS
We were thinking about getting Rush Hour 2, cuz we saw 3 in the movies.
Shanghai nights wasn't bad
I have all 3 Matrices
Own the Italian Job
Swordfish wasn't as good as I thought it would be
and Ocean's 11 was the best of the three of that series.
Blood Diamond was good.
The Truman Show is a phenomenal movie.

I'm considering National Treasure, Gross Point Blank, Rush Hour 2, ...Didn't Mr. BRooks have Robin Williams?

Any other thoughts before I give my wife my list?

oh man the pursuit of happyness was a miserable movie.  excellent acting.  But i just wanted to turn it off because it's the opposite of enjoying a movie.

planes trains and automobiles...i always confuse that with bedknobs and broomsticks.  which one was that again?

and it's a wonderful life is classic.  I already own that

@CamPoe: Being John Malkovich is quite an odd movie... only got 20min into it, but I just realized it's 10 to 5, so I should be going to bed. I should have gone to bed about 5 hours ago, tbh.

Here, I'll save everyone some time:

Bond saves the day and has a spectacular stunt.
Begin 007 theme music and opening credits.
Bond meets new hottie.
Bond says something witty.
Bond gets new gadgets.
Bond races/has a car chase/drives fast.
Shaken, not stirred.
Bond bangs hottie.
Bond talks to M.
Bond says something witty.
Bond goes to save the day.
Villain talks too much.
Bond wins.
Bond says something witty.
End credits.

I just saved you 20something movies.
