I searched only briefly, but I just want a really short answer:
Is it possible to play Bf2 on DX10 with a DX10 card?
Is it possible to play Bf2 on DX10 with a DX10 card?
It'll run fine.djphetal wrote:
second question then:
Is there a way to run Dx9 with vista and an 8600?

Well it doesn't. I'm trying to help a friend here, and he hasn't gotten it to work yet.Hurricane wrote:

edit: DX10 cards work fine with DX9 programs.
but you're not running DX10, are you?mtb0minime wrote:
Maybe he needs to fix his graphics drivers?
I'm using a Radeon HD 3850 on XP 64-bit and it runs just fine.

I have run BF2 and other DX9 games successfully with an 8800GTS 640MB in Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.djphetal wrote:

I will only believe it works if someone else who is running Vista, with a DX10 card tells me it can be done.

that means BOTH the card AND the game? because the card is DX10... I know the game isn't. Anyway, thanks for the help, we'll try it out and I'll get back to you.[TUF]Catbox wrote:

speaking of Sp1 for vista when is that coming out?mtb0minime wrote:
Ah ok, now I understand your question. I do have friends who play BF2 on Vista, but I'm not sure they're running DX10. If no one answers this question by the time SP1 for Vista comes out, I'll give it a shot and let you know (once SP1 is out, I'm switching to Vista).
And to Shadow: I doubt it. The 2600's are known for their massive power consumption. (I think the whole 2xxx series is, IIRC).
As a matter of fact, don't bother with the 2xxx series. Get a x1950 Pro, or just move up to the HD 39xx series. (Not much more $)

You can get the release candidate for SP1 now, and everything seems to be running just fine for me with it.mtb0minime wrote:
