He has a record of supporting the Constitution.  You know, the law of the land.  That's why I support him.  Whether I agree with every one of his proposals is almost irrelevant.  The federal government acts well beyond its constitutional bounds, and I'll vote for anyone who will return the government to its proper place.  The only person who espouses that view is Dr. Paul.

You obviously aren't watching the election coverage. It stopped being about Iraq when the news stopped reporting on Iraq...since there's not as much negative to report, they just choose to not report anything. The election is about the economy now, and Paul's ideas WRT income tax and other key economic issues scare a lot of people.

Sure he gets a little taste for his constituents.  Why shouldn't he?  Why should the residents of the 14th District pay, pay, pay, and get nothing in return?  Introduce a few pet projects to bring the money back, but then VOTE AGAINST IT!  That's what he does, and I have NO PROBLEM with it.

It's not hypocrisy -- it's taking a small portion of their money back.

And what do you think you gain by calling people morons and assholes?  Do you think it bolsters your position?  Why don't you try civility and respect instead of insults and derision?

Ron Paul's plans seem nice but they are too impractical. I mean how does the government make money without the IRS. And leaving the UN and NATO is just absurd.

The government never "makes" money.  All they do is confiscate it.  And there are many ways to take in money without the IRS.  Sales taxes, tariffs, user fees, excise taxes...  And let's not forget the people who think taxes should be higher now, like Warren Buffett and most of those liberal Hollywood types.  I'm sure they'll gladly donate some money also.

No, it's really not.  What has the UN done for us that we couldn't have done without them?  NATO was in place to ally against the Warsaw Pact nations.  Most of those nations aren't a threat because the Warsaw Pact disintegrated with the fall of the Soviet Union, and six of them are now in NATO.  Only Albania and the Soviet Union remain outside NATO, but Albania has membership as a goal, as do some former Soviet states.  And all former Warsaw Pact nations (and former Soviet states) have signed the Partnership for Peace, a NATO project.

So of what use is our continued membership in either the UN or NATO?
