As a gift to my dad we want to set him up with dual monitors, he has always wanted them for his work but won't buy them for himself.
We are looking to spend ~$500.
The problem is he has a stock HP desktop right now, no AGP (I tried to put in one of my old AGP cards before) and I doubt PCI-E.
He has a 17in 4:3 LCD that changes color or loses picture if you move the cable, so it would be nice if we could get him 2 new monitors and some kind of PCI video card that can run two monitors? He doesn't need performance, and has been content working on a half broken LCD so he isn't likely to complain about contrast ratios or refresh rates...but obviously we don't want to buy him crap.
Is this doable? Ill open the case tonight and double check the mother board to see what type of video card I need but am I out of luck if its not AGP or PCI-E?
