A real shame. I really want AMD to remain prominent on the market so there won't be an Intel monopoly (although I love Intel) and they can raise their prices to whatever they want.

Man they need to get their stuff sorted out. I still prefer them over AMD, but that's quite hypocritical of me as I'm running a Core 2 Duo right now!

All of the motherboard companies need to release new BIOS's before the phenoms will work well.  Things should work out when that happens.

Why would anyone buy a Phenom anyway?

They are inferior and more expensive than (comparative) Kentsfield based CPUs.

This is sad but I wonder how drastically prices would get if AMD was no longer real competition. I don't think it would be as bad as you may think. They would still want to keep people upgrading.
