What's so "lol" about that?  He has his personal religious beliefs and they mean what to you?  You can even see his mentality regarding the private beliefs of politicians when he says it was a ridiculous question in the first place.

Since he won't tryo to get you to change your beliefs, why do you care what his are?
Because it doesn't fall inline with the majority of his internet whackjob fanbase. Not exactly what I would call a progressive thinker.

Please stop with the insults.  It makes you look like a child.

He could think the world is flat and it's turtles all the way down, for all I care.  But his beliefs neither break your back, nor pilfer your wallet, so I ask again, WHO CARES?

It wasn't a remark directed at you personally. I'll give you a bye on that since you are new around here. I happened to agree with a lot of Ron Paul's ideas (Reading this thread in it's entirety would have given you this information). However, I think his worst enemy's are his supporters. The ones who seem very pushy and make outrageous claims. Example: They make cute little videos like this, taking Glenn becks comments out of context. When in fact Glenn Beck is one of the ones who have given Ron Paul a chance to explain himself.. without interruption. When you look at a candidate it is important that you take a look at the whole picture, his entire character. Not just the miracles he claims to be capable of.

I long for a rational, reasonable, pseudo-Libertarian who would do some simple things like make what happens in your home (smoking dope, same sex marriages, gun ownership) your own business, standardize and simplify the tax system, dramatically cut government spending on social programs, and get the hell out of other countries' business, but not go overboard like making heroin use and during-labor-contractions abortions legal and government funded.

I have some reservations about the nature of that Ron Paul video on evolution.  The "snip" happens right in the middle of his explanation, so it leads me to suspect that someone might have altered the clip to remove some of the context of what he was saying.

Whatever the case, now that I know he's silly enough to pander to the religious right on this issue, I can't vote for him.  It's a shame too.

Oh well, Mike Gravel will have my vote instead.

How is he "pandering" to anyone?  Pandering does not involve stating the question itself is stupid and a waste of time.  He would be pandering if what he said was not what he actually believes, but do you have any evidence of that?

You're right, Hollis.  I can't vote for Paul because he's stupid enough not to believe in evolution.

So... how much are you willing to pay, in higher taxes and lost liberties, just to havea president who agrees with you about the course of life on our planet?  In your answer, please discuss how Paul's lack of belief in evolution affects you (or anyone else, for that matter), especially given the fact that Paul believes education shouldn't be in the hands of the federal government so you can't claim he'll teach your kids about the Jesus.

How dare you insult the messiah. Everyone has their own reasons for not picking a candidate. You don't have to explain yours, it's personal to you. Thats something some people just can't grasp.

Too bad for gunslinger and usmarine, they will not be able to shoot and kill unarmed arabs from 30000 feets anymore.
since when was I a pilot you neo nazi peice of shit.  it was more like shooting and killing un armed arabs from about 5 feet away.  and Im going back to iraq next year, so Ill have plenty more chances to shoot and kill unarmed arabs again.
Well good luck to you in your killing spree.

Thanks for your services and thanks for preventing the iraqis and Saddam from conquering the world.  Don't forget to shoot the childrens too.. they will become terrorists one day !!

And stay safe, we will need you to save us from ahmadinetc.. who, like saddam, want to conquer the world. Theres a lot of terrorist in Iran who want to take over the world!

Since Huckabee wants to go in pakistan now that al quaida killed Buttho and you and i know that its your job to fix every god damn shit hole in the world before your own country then plz stay safe cuz we will need you to save the world again from Musharaf who wants to nuke the world.

Oh yeah and don't forget to ignore China and Russia who are getting stronger and stronger, and don't forget to ignore the fact that your country is going broke.

Why do i care so much about your country?  because i'm right next to it and if you go down, we go down.

But plz stay safe, we will need you to protect the world against those dangerous arabs.

and don't forget to not vote for Ron Paul, because of his crazy idea to go back to the constitution and just mind your own business. I heard that he wants to balance the budget too by cutting some foreign aid to those same shithole. Hey i even heard that Ron Paul is the guy who received the more money from members of the US military.  What a bunch of crackpots... supporting a guy like Ron Paul.. plz while you are in Iraq, don't forget to educate those guys!!

I just don't want a candidate who will run the bills higher. Are we in a recession? I think so. Does the Fed think so? No. I think everyone else will just make it worst.

Have we had two consecutive quarters of negative growth? No.

kthxbye

The housing, financial, and auto-mobile sectors are in pretty bad shape, not to mention there is a credit revulsion going on and a derivatives crisis rippling through the global market. Inflation is good for wall street, which is at 13% according to M3. BTW, recessions are not necessarily bad, but I see worse things ahead.

Simple answer: because Mike Gravel accomplishes all that while still believing in evolution.  The problem I now see with Paul is that he's seeing things from a perspective I simply cannot relate to.

Everyone is free to believe what they want to believe, but I can guarantee you that I will never vote for someone who considers creationism and evolution equally viable, because that demonstrates a serious flaw in their logic.  One theory is based on logical, scientific evidence, whereas another is based on religious conjecture.  The two are simply not even comparable in validity, because creationism is not even remotely logical -- UNLESS you're talking about creationism in the context of "God made the Earth over millions of years."  Then, creationism is viable, but that's really no different from saying, "God made the Big Bang."

What Paul is defending is young-Earth creationism, which is completely utter bullshit.

I'd rather vote for Gravel, because he's like a more realistic version of Paul.

M3 is a statistic that, according to the gov, doesn't exist but it does and it says inflation is at 13%. So no, I'm not joking.
