So my radeon X600 decided to die on me. Anyway, I'm looking for a replacement card (on a budget of about £50 (or $100), and my choices are limited because I need an AGP one.
Currently I'm down to two choices:

Radeon x1550 512mb

or

Radeon HD 2400 256mb

The 2400 is quite a bit faster in terms of clock speed (not that I really understand what that is) but has less memory.
Which one would be better for gaming? My other stats are 1gb ram and 3.2 ghz processor.
Thx

Doesnt quite work like that, comparing clocks of two different cards, though I think in this case by chance it does, someone wants to correct me feel free.

What is it used for anyways, gaming?

You could use more RAM me thinks, but, if you are dead set on a GPU then I say try looking for an Nvidia 7600GT.

Out of those two cards you selected I would probably go for the HD 2400.

Though tbh neither are going to yield great frame rates in games

http://www.gpureview.com/superlatives.php for general advice. they also list price of stuff from newegg if you are from the US.

don't grab the x1550  <--- crap
grab the x1650 xt if you are gonna get an older card

here is why:
x1550 vs x1650 XT

or go x1650 PRO

x1550 vs x1650 PRO

if you get an older , cheaper card get some RAM too. 1Gb isn't much.
