Reasons why being a Commander is such a god-like job
A) You see things 1x, 2x, 4x zoom. You are omnipresent. You can see how the blue dots are slowly transforming into red dots and there is nothing you can do about it except to send arti (lightning) into the red bases or drop supplies for your troops (manna from heaven).
B) At 4x zoom, you see someone about to knife a team-member and nothing you can do except “enemy infantry spotted”. And which point you wish you had the ability to zap him with a lightning bolt. We know for a fact that in the modern religious context, lightnings are acts of nature, not of god.
C) You tell your squads to do go to this, they either thumb you in their nose, do something else, or ignore you. Equally frustrating is when they ask you for UAV right after you ask someone to go repair it and the answer was “no can do”. “Forgive them, Father, for they know not their sins.”
D) You sent arti into enemy base, they drive right into it and punishes you for a decision they made on their own freewill. God gave you a pair of eyes, use it and when an arti sign lights up like a freaking Christmas tree (and it got those nice red ripples on it, so how much more obvious can it get), please FFS do not walk or drive into it. “Do not turn and look behind as you leave Sodom and Gomorrah”, so listen to sounds of shell coming in, and watch the minimap (it is there for a reason), or else you will be a pile of salt (or was it sand?) on the road.
E) They request for arti right at the very location that they are standing at. “Ask and ye shall receive”. Damn right they did.
F) They mutiny vote (crucify) you all the time despite winning all the previous rounds because they either think they can do a better job or they just don’t want you to get that many points by not getting onto the ‘field. Ditto “forgive them, Father, for they know not their sins”. But of course, if you are a Commander boarding a jet and taking a tour of the battlefield and doing nothing much else, you deserve to be voted off your job. In which case the grunts will look to the heavens literally and say “why have you forsaken us?”
Ok..done venting..
p/s no offence intended to the religiously inclined..
