i'm trying to get PR going on my brother's machine [which has vista on it], and i can't get it to install PR.   is there a specific patch to do this?  i have tried with the latest and greatest PR file from the official PR website, and all it does is freeze it up.
simplified question: can i run PR with Vista, and if so, how?

1.7 ghz centrino
2 gigs ram
256 6800 geforce go

Have you patched BF2 to 1.41? Did you download the latest Project Reality?

If yes to all, try downloading the full version of PR and not the version if you already have BF2 1.41 installed or whatever.

i HAVE patched to 1.41
i DID download the latest PR patch 
i DID download the full version of PR (pr_0163_setup) <-  1.82 GB


edit 1:

i'm downloading it again - from a different website, and this time directly to the pc with shit vista - we'll see if this one works...

edit 2:

lolwut!
after five minutes of an hourglass mouse, it started the setup.  *sigh* i can't imagine what problems will be in my near immediate future. 
as of now, it works - correction: as of now, i can install PR
