And no, I haven't used a CRT in years, and damn happy about it. Once you've used any sort of decent LCD/TFT screen, you won't ever want to go back.

I replaced a crappy logix (or some other crap make) 17" CRT with a 22" pebble on wednesday.
Btw i forgot how to change the settings on this comp so that the button on my keyboard labelled @ actually makes that gin instead of the " it makes now and vice versa with the " key. I did a full reformat of my comp and now i've forgotten how i did it originally

I've got an old 17" CRT that I've been too lazy to change, and a horrible, old 18" Dell UltraSharp. I've been putting off getting my Samsung 971P out of laziness.

I used to have a really good IBM 19" CRT, but the plug was yanked by my dad and so now it's all yellow. Pity though it was really good and could handle 85Hz. The SyncM can only do 60, but at least it's flat-screened.

I don't see why people would still use a CRT. LCD monitors are extremely cheap nowadays. I got my 18.1 inch monitor for 100 dollars and that was back in 2004.
CRTs are better for gaming: faster response, less eyestrain, and more contrast.killer21 wrote:

Plus, they're harder to steal/damage.
(One of the nice new 17" TFTs at my school had someone poke a pen through it. Big hole, kinda funny )
But i prefer CRTs myself, although I have ready access to the new stuff.
However, I play on a 118" projector screen, so not too much of an issue.

I use a 15" standard CRT from '99 for installing/testing computers. And my TV is a 21" CRT from '82.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
Off Topic: When you installed Windows you chose English-US instead of English-UK as your system default language. Hence you have the American keyboard layout, rather than the one you're used to . I'm pretty sure you can change the system language from the Control Panel.Noobeater wrote:
