I did it as sort of a tribute to THA who had left the forums. He was very kind to me after yerded died. He was the first one that made me feel real affection to this site. some name change just make their names easier/simple, some just want something else, or made a mistake when making their account,

Well Dezerteagal5 was my AIM name before my bf2 name, then once i got sick of that, and realised it kinda was childish, i went on to a much simpler name with no numbers. And then everyone pretty much hated me here, and i had a bad reputation, and i was gunna just start a new account but i didnt wanna get rid of the karma, so i figured no one would notice my name change. Why do they do it? What status is attained in doing so? Perhaps it can be said in ATG's case that he had it done just for the sake of making things easier; however, the same can not be said for the others, to some extent. Is changing your name from something childish like dezerteagle5 to something as plain and ordinary as Mitch a sign of "maturity"?
Basically my question is: What are you lot trying to pull?
A question for the community: Does a name change that eliminates "childish" words such as "dezerteagle" and "leet" really make you see these members in a new, maturer light?

I had first had the username as my BF2 name, but since there aren't that many users that I would have to identify myself with the numbers, they were superfluous. Also, I counted on my sig and now avatar as well for people to recognize my posts. It was just a simplification.

I changed mine cause my email is different now and I cant get a password, ATG changed his from Yerded at first, then to Alexander the Grape, then to ATG, because his previous accounts were banned(I think).
All in all, I dont think people really care about the name, now some have done it to escape previous things, hoping people wouldnt know who they really are.
