so since i cant do shit tonight, I started playing NFS:PS with a $20 PS2 steering wheel my brother got for Christmas.  I've been doing the drift/drag shit all night and realized two things:

1)  holy fuck this is awesome
and
2)  I need a clutch pedal

so theres a slight chance I may run to best buy tomorrow and impulse buy a g25 (or something) so that I can stomp some PC racing ass.  anyone know of any good drift/drag games I can get?  yes, i want something besides NFS if there's any alternative whatsoever.

kthanks

Juiced 2 is out. I don't know if it's meant to be good or not, but I got the first Juiced the other week for $10 out of a bargain bin and it's been well worth the two fivers I slapped down on it.

If you can find it (its... 6 years old now that its 2008 lol) Midnight Club 2, while not being at all realistic in handling, is the pinnacle of arcade racing to this day for me.

You might want to try GTR 2 and Race 07 The WTCC Game.

Clutch pedals suck, there are very few games that support it (and the ones that do aren't great for drifting- like GTR2) and its hard/unrealistic to use because you can't hear or feel your engine.

Juiced 1 = Awesome
Juiced 2 = I won't even call this a driving game with those crappy physics
NFS PS = Shit
NFS C = Decent but not as good as earlier games
NFS MW = Awesome
NFS U2 = Awesome

Ya, watch the G25:: the sixth and reverse gear are now mapped as one gear on mine (yes i have taken it apart and tried to fix it, and no it ain't a software problem)
and I'm far from the only one with that problem.
So make sure you get extended warranty, mine quit after 1 year almost exactly.
but the clutch and 900 dgree spin are goo though.
I like pie.

I loved drag racing in NFSU, the Speed Challenge in NFS:Pro Street is abit like that. But faster. I dunno if Pro Street has Drag cos I only played the demo, but the Speed Challenge was fun.

I can definitely vouch for getting the Logitech G25! The clutch pedal is a god send on games that support it (think rFactor etc) and 900 degree rotation is one fantastic bonus. If I'm not hitting it up on Call of Duty 4 / browsing, I'll be driving a Corvette around the Nurburgring on rFactor!

Well when I'm driving in games I'm usually stuck on a barrier or something so I don't really get to hear much

Forza on the Xbox 360 allows you to drift because its so realistic. Soo hard though - shame the g25 can't hook up to it.
'Just type' in forza drifting into googleand loads of pages come up with hints and tips.
