I don't get this. My computer randomly freezes when there's alot of animations going on (eg: advertisements or flash animations etc.. )

I'm thinking it's a GPU thing, but it can't be since I can play intensive games like CoD4 for long times with nothing happening. So what gives? Is it a software thing? It happens on all browsers not just firefox. I'm out of ideas as to what could be causing this.

Since bweb browsers aren't very hardware accellerated, this is a rather common problem.

All power the web browser needs is harvested from the CPU, and has nothing to do with the GPU or other pheripherals.

So, what CPU have you got, and is it overclocked? In some cases, extreme overclocking can cause horrible performance flaws on certain applications.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
