I saw this one 512 HD 2600 Pro at Best Buy today, it was made by VisionTek and happened to run in the AGP bus, which I happen to have.  This card is $99.99 before tax.

On a side note: Maryland sales tax increased from 5% to 6% for 2008, which is today

Would I be better off just waiting for shipping and ordering the cheaper Sapphire version from Newegg?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814102709

And it comes with GRAW 2 for free.

Also, which brand is better, Sapphire or VisionTek?

Update: I do not want to spend much more than 100$ on this card.  I'm not looking for expensive top-level performance and the AGP 2600 is clocked higher than 1950 AGP cards anyway.

If youre dead set on AGP, I reccomend a 7950GT or a 1950Pro or if you don't have the money, get the one from Sapphire as I am not familiar with Visiontek.

Depending on the rest of your system, I'd say, take an nVidia 7800/7900 series card, or X1950 if you want a new card, but don't need the DX10.

Otherways, the Newegg one.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

That's all I can find for good AGP performance, from this I say 7900GS

I'm pretty sure the 2600 is faster than the 7800, which is no longer on Newegg for some reason.

There's 7900's for AGP now btw. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi … rce+7900GS

Would a 400W power supply work for the card I want

400W would overkill actually, yeah 400W is fine, you can run a 8800GT on that.

I just got a 2600XT DDR3 512 in PCI-E and this card freakin ' screams.

Plus it didn't need a power connection so it's not a power hog . . .

Well AGP is out of this time when you're talking about gaming...

I'd go for either a ATI 1950 or a 7900.

XFX GeForce 7900GS 256MB/256-bit GDDR3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814150174
$180

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 2600XT 256MB/128-bit GDDR3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814102711
$110

The 7900GS is a much better value (and has better drivers, imo), unless you plan on building a new system sometime soon. And the specifications of that Radeon card render its DX10 abilities somewhat irrelevant, as you likely won't be making much use of them in newer DX10 games.

Or, as mentioned earlier:

HIS Hightech Radeon HD 2600XT 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814161207
$170, if you absolutely, positively want DX10.

Before making a decision, compare:

It doesn't have to be DirectX10 since I don't plan on using Vista on this comp, it just has to be around 100$, have better performance than my current one (X1650Pro 256MB GDDR3), have 512MB of VRAM, and not take up two slots of space like my current one does.

Newegg seems to have all that in the 2600.

Plus, Newegg doesn't seem to have any more X1950s for some reason and the ones on other sites are all over 200$

And here I thought you were stuck with a GeForce 4 or some other such monstrosity. If you have a 1650 Pro, it's not worth upgrading to another video card. Instead, save your pennies for a newer rig.

I decided to just save up for a 360, then I can play with the cute little black chicky in my class that I have a crush on, not to mention to mention all the modifications you can have fun with.  With the 100$ Best Buy card I got and the 140$ in cash I have, i'm only $56.80 from getting the cheap 360 after sales tax.

Don't get the "Arcade" 360. Just don't

It's worth your $ if you just save up for the 360 Elite.

It'll take me a year to do that.  This way should only take me 2 months or so, I can't get a job until I turn 16 in late April.
