Well I'm trying to set it up for my XBL (gamertag: Sportsman11) and it won't work with my whole firewall so I tried to get it to work and messed with my firewall and went back and clicked next to test it if it worked. But it just has finish. Then, when I go to the set-up .exe it will say "Setup is currently in progress". I didn't want to close anything I wasn't sure with. myabe you have to end it through the processes? Thanks guys. +1 to helper.

EDIT: I didn't make this clear but the setup is on the computer. SS:

That's when I try to open up the whole setup thing.

Stk - Ok I'll ask later thanks. I'll get SS up in a sec.

'Wires coming out of it' isn't exactly an assurance it's actually plugged into the network.
Check the network settings on the 360.

I've had a lot of trouble with this as well.  Usually the 360 sees the computer but the computer doesn't see the 360.

restart your computer to get the setup thing running again.

on your router you should have this:

power cord
ethernet out (probably four of these) <unless you have wireless, one of these should be running to your computer. another should run to the xbox.
tell your firewall to allow the media center extender to access your computer. you should be good here.
ethernet in (usually placed slightly separate from the other four) <this should be where the internet plugs in

Wow, I don't even want my Media Center wirelessly connected to my Xbox but it just did it on it's own. When my comp and Xbox were both on, an icon came up showing Xbox 360 detected.
