I'm surprised that a card like this popped out of the oven when AGP should be dead/dying...

HD 3850 512MB is a whole new kind of overkill for AGP slot.

That's good for the people with an AGP board.. but honestly most AGP boards are so old the rest of the system would just be limiting the 3850's potential.

I assume this card is probably near useless because very few, if any, mobos that support AGP support good enough processors to get the full benefit of this card.

Jesus, I thaught my AGP x1950 Pro was the end of the road, I really can't see there being a market for something that powerful in such an antiquated format

ASrock boards have AGP and take C2D quad cores and DDR2 (albeit slow DDR2).

Oh, I didn't know that.  Seems silly to buy one of those, though.

Maybe some ppl like to buy antique, heheh
I just got grazy upgrade thought for socket 939: this card + Athlon 64 X2. That would be pretty decent rig thats for sure.

Indeed it is, I have one of those ASrock boards cos I'd not long bought my AGP x1950 (the big ass IceQ3 Turbo one, smoked everything in it's day) and I wanted a C2D, shitty mobos, can't overclock at all, no voltage control or anything, I'm getting rid of it this week and selling my x1950 as I've had it a year now, best graphics card I've come across, gonna be sad to see it go 8800GT to replace it though

I bought a 6800 ultra agp card three years ago when it was supposedly the bees knees. Now I use it as a doorstop.
