Graphics Card issues.

I recently bought a 7600GT but lately the fan has been failing and I have to move it around a bit with my fingers to get it to respin. Its increasing the GPU temp from 65c to 88c. Is there any fix to this other than tweaking it with my hand or should I just RMA it and be stuck with a piece of shit X300 128MB until a new one arrives weeks later?

Im a bit of a tech idiot, but can you not just buy a new fan, not a whole new GPU?

well i got my 7600gt for about 1y and a half and i never had any problem with it.. Even when it was dusty the fan never failed.. Is your's clean ? IMO i would return it to the store/website ...

Buying fan instead of RMAing GPU for free? I was just hoping there was an easier free way of fixing it without having to send it back.

I personally would RMA it. If it's brand new it should work accordingly. Though you cold get another cooler to put onto it, but that would be a waste of cash.

Yeh it is completely clean and Ive only had it for like 2 weeks or so, so that shouldnt have been a problem.

Buy a new fan if you've got $30. (And $20 more if you have to have someone assemble it)

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. I had this problem with my Radeon 9800 Pro. I RMA'd it a whole bunch and I'm on my third card and the fan still goes bad. So now I just keep the side of my case open and if I smell something burning, I give the fan a whirl, kinda like starting a boat
Luckily I have a new computer now, though. You should upgrade that card whenever it's possible.

The card was actually a cheap upgrade to my now broken X700PileofShit
