So dudes my parents want a new PSU because its starting to make an unbearable noise (the fan I think) so I was wondering if you guys could guide me towards a cheap PSU that is quiet and will fit in a Micro ATX case.

At least 350 watts, quiet, and good manufacturer pls. Preferably under £40 but it can stretch at a huge push.

ty in advance and karma for those who help.

P4 3.2
1Gig RAM - generic
ATI x550 - shit i know
1 hard drive

EDIT - when i mean 'at least 350W' i mean that is where i would prefer to be.

Let's start by showing you an example of what you don't need.

And an appropriate example of a product that would meet your requirements:

Its your ball bearings in your power supply fan, if you cant be bothered to replace them, get a new PSU

Certainly would be safe with any decent branded 430W PSU. Could go a bit lower than that safely too, I wouldn't go much below 380W though and you wouldn't have much scope for add ons (including using lots of USB powered devices).

Although if you were looking to do the upgrade more cheaply, it may be worth getting a lower grade, slightly overpowered PSU, but you'd probably lose your savings after a year or 2 of higher electricity bills (from lower grade lack of efficiency, not from it being overpowered, since higher powered PSUs do actually tend to be more efficient). It all depends how often the system will be used.
