Arrange the following issues/conflicts in descending order, starting with the one you consider should be solved first.

-Somalia
-Israel-Palestine
-Pakistan
-Iraq
-Darfur
-Zimbabwe

I included Pakistan because they have nukes and the country has turned a bit unstable lately.  Feel free to comment on the subject.

I can't say some issues are more important to solve than others and they need to be solved first. I think they all need to be solved at once.

And out of the list above?

Out of the list you gave

-Israel-Palestine
-Pakistan
-Iraq
-Zimbabwe
-Darfur
-Somalia

There seems to be little benefit from having a normal Somalian state or Sudan being normal, and it won't change anything if they are. So that's why those two are at the bottom.

and I suppose the world would be a better place if usmarine wasnt so grumpy, perhaps that would go somewhere inbetween Zimbabwe and Somalia

Pakistan and Iraq fit into number 2. The rest fit into number 3.

Well, giving up on Africa in general is certainly understandable in many cases.  I think we can probably improve the Darfur situation though.

Have to agree. Why does the US constantly have to play the role of the world police, not only that, but constantly being criticized for playing that role. Its a no win situation, plus the sad part is that we are losing many awesome men and women fighting other peoples battles. We should take care of our own and fuck the rest of em. If they threaten us, slam em hard and start setting some hard core examples.

I used to feel that way...  until I noticed that China decided to intervene in Darfur.

I'd rather we be the world's police than China.

What is it with people moaning about the US being the world police and how unfair it is? This is just a thread about which conflicts are in the most urgent need of being resolved, not who does it or how it's done. If you absolutely have to bitch, do it when it's warranted. Anything else is just sobbing and moaning for sympathy.

Of that list, I'd say Darfur and Somalia.

I don't care about being the World Police, sounds fine to me, but we've got so much shit that's wrong inside the country let's try to fix that first before we try to fix everyone else's problem.

The thread isn't about the US helping to end these conflicts.  The UN should deal with them.

Agreed...  we do need to spend more time and money on domestic issues.  I'm just saying we can't be isolationist either.

No, I didn't include them because they aren't having a civil war and aren't a threat to anyone right now.

Pakistan number one primarily because of the Waziristan/tribal areas being a safe haven for the Taliban and AQ.

I don't care if a nuke goes off on the other side of the world if the US isn't involved.

That, and do you honestly think any of those problems would get solved without US intervention? Either because of the military or diplomatic force needed, or because we're so damn nosy we have to stick our fingers in everything, in some form or fashion the US would be involved in the solution.
