Microsoft sidewinder force feedback 2... discontinued, but best FF controller I've used (motorized, no springs)
You can find the sidewinders on ebay and amazon... They weren't ever cheap to begin with and now that they're discontinued they're even worse... amazon starts at $140. The 3 auctions at ebay nearest their end have prices at 70, 50 and 100... Although after 5 years of playing games with mine, I'd easily pay up to $100 for it seeing the new crap out there... I've never seen another stick that had motor-controlled centering, X, Y, Z and throttle axis, so much programmability and such a weight to it that it didn't need to be held down while being used... It's rock solid. Only thing that sucks is they don't have the sidewinder software available for XP or Vistaschmitty wrote:

Yeah, its the famed Logitech fail. Not thats it's a bad joystick, it just does this after years of use. I had a Logitech 3D Pro, did the same thing. If you search Logitech problem, you will see many other threads. So there isn't really anything you can do to "fix it". Just buy a new one. Sorry to be the one to tell ya.
I found the x-52 in a Popular Science magazine over a year before I started playing BF2.. I thought it was really nice design, because the joystick and throttle have no internal contacts to wear out like other joysticks. So the reliability of a great design outweighed the expense, for me. The point is it's a great design and the input/ interaction with the game is well, simply amazing. I would recommend any Saitek product based on my experience... My replacement... a birthday gift to meh-self
Saitek X-52 FTW!!!!
