I know this is a common problem but a quick google search gave me no answers.  When I overclock my GPU, the clocks revert to their factory defaults every time I restart.  Yes I hit Apply and yes I save my profile.  Does anyone know the fix to this, if there even is one?

I don't think it saves, It just resets each time you restart.

The reason why your settings go back on boot is because you overclock with software. the card gets it's settings back as soon as the software quits.

If you use riva tuner you can set it to automatically start on windows startup using the same settings every time. i don't know if the same thing is possible with ntune, but i think not.

so try to use riva tuner.

Dunno, but I just use RivaTuner.  It can save the settings so that when your computer starts up, your video card starts with the overclocked settings.

I have an 8800 GTS 512MB with the latest drivers.  I downloaded RivaTuner but it says that my drivers are not supported.  I've heard RivaTuner doesn't work with 8800's... is this true?

Spik3y wait for an update of Rivatuner.. Mine won't work with Forceware 169.13 and up either.
OP: Get Rivatuner. It's way better than crappy nTune, which won't save your fan and clock settings upon reboot.

It's normal for nTune to revert your system back to factory clocks upon reboot.  It is a limitation of the program.

Mine works fine, I get a message at start up.

If you create a profile.  However, simply overclocking it using nTune, while making specific profiles, will result in the system returning to defaults after a reboot.  Also, nTunes profile creation leaves much to be desired.  There are many other better applications for doing this.
