A single socket can hold up to 1800 watts of power.

I'm sure you wouldn't need over a 1000w PSU to power all 3. After all, I'm sure Nvidia's trying to keep their power consumption levels of their cards very low to rival ATi.

Edit: Seems you can only Quad-SLi the 9800 GX2 (AKA just regular SLi'ing) because 3 9800 GX2s wouldn't fit.

Does anyone know if you needed a SLi motherboard for a single 7950GX2? Because it's two chips together but essentialy just one single card.
Let's hope I don't, because I'll be buying that 9800GX2 I guess.. But else I'd need a new motherboard too ._.

No, it goes through 1 PCI-E bus, so for 1 7950GX2 or 1 9800GX@, you don't need a SLI board if youre planning on buying only 1.

yes. it takes up only two slots and if I remember right it should be a bit shorter than Ultra... or not...
