hello... recently i upgraded video card to HIS ATi Radeon HD2900XT 1GB gDDR4, with Catalyst 7.11 installed, other games (COD4 : Modern Warfare & Crysis) went well, but in Battlefield 2 (BF2), i got this black spot thingy..., at first thought it was driver, then update to the latest, 7.12... the problem persist, uninstalled the game doesn't help at all, crossed in mind, it could be the card, swapped with HD3850, HD3870... guess what... i still got this black spot as screenshot... help... owh, by the way, on my old X1900XT, there ain't got any black spot...

oops, by the way, my system's spec are as following :

Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 2.2GHz
Foxconn Mars (P09)
3GB of RAM
250GB Western Digital SATA
HIS 2900XT 1GB gDDR4/Sapphire HD3870 512MB gDDR3/Asus EAHD3870 512MB gDDR3/HIS HD3850 IceQ/HIS X1900XT 512MB

Did the game go through the process of "Optimizing your Shaders" ? If not, try clearing the cache in your ?:\Documents and Settings\you\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache folder. Just delete everything in your folder, not the folder itself. Its worth a try...

i did, delete the xxx\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache but the problem still persist...

Did the game go through the process of "Optimizing your Shaders"? That would, to me at least, be the problem....try forcing it by manually lowering your settings to, say all low, then load a single player game, quit out when it loads, change the settings again to your preference, then see if that works.

I purchased a Visiontek HD3870 and when I play bf2 I have black spots all over land (grass, roads, hills, etc) none over over the water or sky. If I Fly high enough and look down there are no spots.

Installed (clean) 7.12 CCC, reinstalled (clean) bf2 with 1.41 patch, tried about every setting configuration I could to resolve the issue in both game settings and CCC but no luck.

Unfortunatly I have the same issue and have not been able to find a fix.  We are not alone as i have found another thread on the sapphire forums http://www.sapphiretech.com/en/forums/showthread.php?t=17502

Setting the Catalyst AI to Advanced in the CCC fixed it for me. Hope it helps.
