thats why you vote for a candidate and not a party.  I dont even look at party affiliation, its stupid.  Live in california and call our governor a republican.  live in conneticut and call lieberman a democrat (before he changed affiliation)  Their actions dont follow through with their original party's platforms.

I actually heard a local radio talk show host in Las Vegas last week decrying the practice of voting for the candidate instead of the party. She made Ann Coulter sound like a bra-burning NOW board member.

If you vote based solely on party affiliation without looking at the individual candidates' positions on issues important to you, then you deserve what you get.
