People of differing opinions and differing interests tend generally not to enjoy working together. The continent needs to start from scratch from the tribes up. Warfare -> New Borders -> Nation Building, in that order.

If they didn't progress from tribal warfare and hunter gatherer whilst they were free from Colonialism (talking mainly about sub-saharan Africa, before the arrival of Europeans), what makes you think they're gonna do it now.

The only way to get rid of it is education, so they realise that petty tribal differences are stupid and should be resolved via flaming on internet video game forums (that's how Europe does it)

Yeah I feel sorry for them. We are pretty lucky to be born in the countries that we are born in. Put yourself in their shoes for a bit and try to imagine what its like. Seriously, if you were born there, think what your life might be like. Pretty shit I reckon and probably through no fault of your own.
We have a Somalian guy at work, I have worked with him for 4 years now. He is a lovely guy, just wants to live here with his family and watch his kids grow up and be happy, just like the rest of us. The stories he tells ( although he doesnt talk about it much ) are truly horrific. I know that really theres not much we can do to stop the tribal violence, but the least we can do is feel some empathy towards them.
