Yes, actually it is very possible. Think of the distances China and Russia would have to take in order to mobalize any sizeable force. Think about the out-dated systems of Russian forces. Think about the fact that half of all conscripts in the PLA are issued knives instead of rifles. But than this all depends on who is invading who. As for a joint Russian and Chinese invasion of the US, impossible. An invasion of Europe, highly unprobable. Most ex-communist bloc countries are now apart of NATO and have more advanced defense systems than Russia, ie. Poland and the Czec Republic. Russia cant even upgrade over 90% of its airforce, they cannot afford to replace the hind helicopter, and those large tank formations are a thing of the past. Both countries would do well with home defense but any assault could be a risk too large worth taking. Afterall, even with the size of the PLA, most Chinese military analysts believe an invasion of Japan is impossible and even Taiwan, being extremely difficult and risky.

I doubt any modern-day war fought between nations like China and the US would involve any kind of ground-based invasion. Im my opinion it would mostly be fought in the air; tactical air strikes to take out key targets, military installations, power supplies etc. The US doesnt have the resources to occupy a country the size of China, the same in reverse applies to China. I think its just unrealistic to talk about invasion when a war between nations today would be swift and decisive, fought at altitude. And if this were the case, so long as nukes werent touched, the US would have the upper hand.
I dont see a civilian having a fraction of the amount of insight that soldier of any military will have. I find a lot of peoples views of warfare on this forum are just too damn simple. I get angry when people use stupid ass website full of nonsense to back their argument. How is anyone here, even russian or chinese citizens gonna know whats going on with their military.

They have a loose defense pact in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, but understandably, it is more centrally located to their regions and responds more to local difficulties and stateless entities rather than global conflict, which would find the two hard pressed to continue their alliance (which does not even guarantee cooperation in such a situation).

About Russia: Had the biggest army during WW2. Lost most of the soldiers but right now the biggest army has China. They just changed roles.
About China: If they would they could invade all countries around them. They could rush to north and occupie east russia easily. Then North Korea would liberate them and they would roll over South Korea. Taiwan would be no enemy. And yes Japan is also there but it could not defeat them.
About USA: He owns the newest technology in modern warfe but that wouldnt be enough to win over the massive army of China.
The EU: If all the countries unite to fight. No chance. Only in fact China would defeat Russia so they would reach us.
