Would you like one, too?
It's always a pleasure when a company encourages us to embrace our curves. In this instance, it's Alienware bringing on the 2880 x 900 resolution ultimate gaming monitor. It's the equivalent of a couple of WXGA+ monitors glued side by side and is bound to be a more immersive experience with better peripheral vision. It's available in the second half the year (and fear not, the pixellation in the video is YouTube compression-related, not indicative of the actual quality).

fail.

The fov looks a little distored near the edges, maybe it's just me. And I bet it weighs a ton.

lol. that's what I would call a widescreen...
but seriously... I'm not a fan of widescreens and that is so wide that it stretches all the stuff so badly that it looks unnatural.

edit: and my eyes hurt when looking at the distortions on the edges of the screen

yeah.. but I was commenting about the distortions and stretching... something I don't want from a $$$$$$$$$$ expensive monitor...

Hmm... No.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

wtf. it's probably 2000 dollars at least, and it's too big.
