I would say that there would be no invasion, it Russia would withdraw after global pressure.

I think this current world is unlike anything in history. The world is at a point where everyone is allied with , or is, one of the biggest world powers, Wars between nations seem to be a thing of the past.
Granted, it could all change in a WW3, but everybody has that shiny red nuclear button, so it's no longer victory for one, defeat for the other, any nations that engage in a full scale war will drag nuclear weapons in one way or another, which, ends in the end of the world.
The only thing you have anymore is insurgencies, terrorist groups, and unstable nations in a near civil war.
