its late i know as the title said, but I'm sick of my Pb probs again, I've tried everything the evenbalanced thingy and my Pb still the same i tried everything that i could possibler do to my PC and it doesn't work

Search is amazing...did you try ALL of these steps? Is it started as a service? What error message? Spec's of your system?

1. Manually update your punkbuster using pbsetup.exe (just to be safe)

2. Download pbsvc.exe from PB.

3. Run it, select the uninstall option.

4. Run it again, select the install option.

5. Reboot if you want, just in case. I didn't and it worked fine for me.

this is my OS, i had vista once but i didnt like it cause 2 many probs. (ares wanst loading songs, bf2 always kicken me out because the 32 thingy) i now have a xp but always is keping me messing me up. th eonly way i can play is that when i get kicked out i press the thingy that my antivirus tell me taht it doesnt recon this program the pnkbuster handshaking failure , and then it let me play then it always continues. and yes i download the pbsetup and the pbsvc and still the same

Eureka......your antivirus is not allowing punkbuster to access the internet.....Do you know how to allow programs via your antivirus? If not, What antivirus are you using?

You'll need to be a bit clearer mate.. What version of McAfee is it? What other things? As im sure you can figure out, i cant guess how to help without better details...

iight im writhing you at my school cause i dont do shit a my class so here is what i know bout my antivirus

1. my firewall is always blocking everything in my Pc
2. theonlyway i can access it is if i turn off the firewall causing a big risk of... you know what are the risk.
3. i dontknow the third one my firewall is the responsible one of everything.

other thing i cant tell you exactly what is the version of my mcafee let me get home and i tell you

What version of McAfee is it? Again, I cant guess dude!!! If you tell me what Ver. your using, i can tell you how to allow PB access, thus allowing you to play. When you get home, start BF2 as normal, when it stops, take a SS so i can see the message telling you its blocked. Start McAfee, go Help/About and copy down the version, that way i can see the Ver. Post them back here.

Hey, to play bf2... simply turn off McAfee and firewall.
Shut them down for the game, then turn them back on when you are done... problem solved.

Good man..

Right-click the McAfee icon, click Personal Firewall, click Internet Applications. That will bring up a list of applications accessing the net. Scroll through and look for anything to do with PB..ie PnkBstrA.exe/PnkBstrB.exe click them and check its allowed...if not allow it and you should be good to go.

If still no luck, try Right-click the McAfee icon, click Set Security Level, choose Trusting Security.
