My opinion: TEH BAWKS (as other people put it)!
If you've played the other guitar hero games, and found them great, then get GH3, but from all I've heard GH3 isn't very amazing. However, from my own experience the orange box is THE best choice of gift since it was released, HL2+episodes 1&2 and TF2 and portal = the win on so many levels.

Hard choice. I'd say "Do you want something unique?" in reference to GH3, but Portal is an experience on its own.
Basically, do you want to play some more FPSes (albeit very good ones), or do you want to try a new game? I know you said you wanted to learn guitar... they're two different things, but maybe you could ask for Orange Box and a real guitar starter kit? GH3 kicks ass, but you sound like you have lots of motivation to learn guitar.

I know the HL2 series is awesome, and TF2 sounds really fun, but honestly, I am kinda bored of FPS's. I have CoD4 which satisfies me, but I do want something different, like GH3.

Well if you really want something different then GH3 is probably it. I was hooked on Guitar Hero the day I got the first one... July 4, 2007. Boy was that fun, even though it was hard as hell because of the crappy hammerons and pull-offs.Ryan wrote:

GH3 is great IMO, lots of good guitar songs and it's just fun.
You cannot beat the epicness of the Orange Box. But if you're tired of FPS and want a change of pace, GH3 should rub you the right way.
