Was curious what the icons at the left of server names on the server select screen represented. For example the headphones (which I assume was viop) , the colored 2 (representing the version of BF2 either green for SF or red), the rest I'm not so sure about. Any search I did ran into no info.
ermm... i usually don't like those kind of responses. but... use the search.
i've read a topic on this some time ago. it was called "server browser icons" or "server icons" or something like that.
hope i could help despite not really giving information.

Yea the colored 2 means which BF2 version and the headphones means VoIP is enabled. If it has a penguin icon, it means it is running on a Linux server, and if it has a icon of a pc, then it's a Windows server, and if it and icon that says 64, then it's running a 64-bit OS. The little green TV screen DOES NOT mean battlerecorder, I hear lots of people saying this but that is not true, the TV screen means Content Check. Content Check is basically the thing that checks for all the modified content and hacks that PB didn't pick up. Basically, it picks up after PB. If you go to a server with Content Check enabled, then the Verifying Client Data part usually takes a little while, however if you go to a server without Content Check enabled, Verifying Clent Data only takes a couple seconds. So, did I miss anything?
EDIT: Oh, and if you didn't already know, the PB icon means PB is enabled on that server and the rank icon means it's a ranked server. And the bar at the far left is the server's health. Red is high, yellow is in the middle, and green is low.

where did you get that content check thing from?
because i've never heard of that. i also thought it was battlerecorder and i don't want to say i distrust you, but i'm still not quite convinced it's not.

Ive been to servers with the green TV icon before and only some had battle recorder, others didn't. And I heard the Content Check thing from somewhere, I can't remember where though.
hmm... sounds interesting. i always thought PB was the only "anti-cheating"-system bf2 is using.
damn... sounds like i gotta hide my hax better from now on

lol
Yea, I try to go to servers without Content Check so that the load times would be a lot shorter.
